STONE QUEST Stone Quest
The Journey Home

The Dream

I had a dream one restless night,
Went to way back when.
Stood beneath a wooden cross,
I was looking up at him.

The scene around me was deathly dark,
Lightning streaked the sky.
I looked up at the Son of God,
And he was about to die.

Blood was running down his face,
Nails in his hands and feet.
A crown of thorns was on his head,
I could hear my own heart beat.

As I looked around at the crowd,
I could see the priests sneering.
Other people around the cross,
Were laughing, joking and jeering.

I heard him cry in a loud voice,
It is finished, then he bowed his head.
Thunder clapped across the sky,
The Lamb of God was dead.

They took his body off the cross,
And laid it in a tomb.
Rolled a stone across the mouth,
Left for the Sabbath was soon.

Next I was in Hades for sure,
Sounds of weeping, fire ablaze.
Looked and there stood Jesus,
And The Devil all amazed.

Jesus took the keys to death and Hell,
Then proclaimed that he was Lord.
By my blood I paid the price,
Satan, you are defeated for ever more.

Suddenly in Heaven I stood,
I saw Jesus in the temple praying.
He was offering a sacrifice to God,
His blood on the alter was lying.

I awoke from my sleep wondering,
About all that I had seen.
It seemed so real and vivid,
But it was only just a dream.
